About

Life at the Improv is built for the person who shows up. The one who stays after class to run the scene one more time. The one who records themselves on their phone and cringes and does it again. The kid who doesn't fit in anywhere except on a stage.

Actors need reps. But acting practice is hard to do alone, embarrassing to do badly, and expensive to do with a coach. This is the practice room.

Why we built it

A friend of ours runs a Friday improv club at a local elementary school. He's an actor who has done real work, Nickelodeon, voice-over, dialogue coaching. Every Friday he prepares a lesson plan on the kitchen table, shows up with 15 kids, and does his best. He doesn't have software. He has patience and a copy of Improv Wisdom.

We watched him work and thought: this man should have an assistant. Not a human one, a tool. Something that holds the roster, generates a warm-up on the fly, runs the game night, takes the notes, gives every kid homework, and follows up at home. Something that also works for the kid at home, on Wednesday, when no one else is watching.

What the product is

One platform with three users in mind:

What it isn't

It's not a replacement for a teacher. Good coaches make actors. The platform is the kitchen, not the chef. It's also not a video-audition marketplace, we don't take cuts on bookings beyond a 2.5% Stripe Connect fee. We make money on subscriptions.
